The aim of the register The register contains the number of reported violations against the Danish Penal Code or special laws (excluding the Danish Road Traffic Act or other special laws regulating traffic).

Population The population is composed of all reported violations against the Danish Penal Code and/or special laws (excluding the Danish Road Traffic Act or other special laws regulating traffic) in Denmark (excluding Greenland and the Faroe Islands)
Variables The reference number which identifies the individual report indicates the police authority, the elements of the crime, the serial number of the case, and the year in which the crime was reported, respectively.
- Crime code (designates the specific violation against the Danish Penal Code or special laws pursuant to the records of the Danish National Police)
- Police district (local police authority that received the report)
- Municipality (including street name, house no., floor, place name)
- Crime date (including the start and end dates of the crime, if occurring within a time span)
- Date of charges (specifies the date on which the police formally brings charges against a person or company)
- Charges filed (a mark indicates that charges have been filed by the police)
