GBD Workshop 2018

GBD Workshop - 28th and 29th May 2018

The Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD) provides estimates of burden for over 300 diseases and injuries. To date, it is the largest and most comprehensive effort to describe the impact of disease, injuries, and risk factors in 195 countries. GBD findings are freely and publicly available but it is important to know how to access and use this information.

This workshop was run by the Psychiatric Epidemiology and Burden of Disease Group (PEABOD) at the Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research which is affiliated with the School of Public Health at UQ and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington, Seattle.

The workshop provided an opportunity to learn about the methods used in GBD and how to access, interpret, and apply GBD findings in research and in health policy and planning.
